We believe that Jesus died for us and only through him can we be saved.
But we also believe that we have to endure to the end. We have to repent. More of us is required than just saying, "Yeah, I believe that Jesus died for my sins."

The whole "Mormon/Christian" argument to me is silly. I know that I believe in Jesus Christ and that He died for me. I don't need other people to agree that I believe that. There isn't a person on the earth who can take away how Christian I am.The Reinertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06319378734681756665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7885709574119806553.post-52873735704577261512012-08-28T10:36:28.129-07:002012-08-28T10:36:28.129-07:00I am excited to hear about the rest of your though...I am excited to hear about the rest of your thoughts on this experience. The debate about whether Mormons are Christians really stems from a difference in semantics. Mormons define "Christian" as someone who believe in Christ and strives to follow His teachings. Many other Christian sects believe that the definition of Christianity stems from the Nicene Creed, some tenets of which Mormons reject, the main one being the Trinity. So really the two groups are talking about different things, but using the same term.

I think it is important for both sides to try to understand the other. As Mormons, our doctrine centers on Christ, so of course we are not comfortable with being drawn outside the circle of the whole of Christianity. But some of our key doctrines are in contrast to what many protestant Christian religions regard as some of their core beliefs, so I can understand why they are not comfortable with us trying to be part of their circle.
